JOHNSTOWN, PA – Trailing 2-0 after three innings, the Champion City Kings got a four-run fourth inning and held on to a close 4-3 win at Johnstown to snap a three-game losing streak.
Noah Curi (West Chester, OH; Clark State College) received his second win of the season by pitching four innings of relief, allowing one unearned run on three hits and one walk while striking out three. Ben Zink (Clayton, OH; Wright State University) picked up his first save by pitching a clean ninth inning. Starter Zach Cabell (North Ridgeville, OH; Clark State College) pitched the first four innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits, four walks, and two punchouts.
Blake Buzzeo (Stow, OH; Miami University) tied the game in the fourth with a 2-RBI single. A pitcher’s error allowed Buzzeo to score, with Sam Seeker (Tallmadge, OH; University of Akron) scoring the eventual go-ahead run on a wild pitch. That’s all the offense needed for the Kings to pick up their fourth win of the season.
