Champion City pours on the offense for five innings, keep Johnstown in check with 20-3 win.
SPRINGFIELD, OH – Fifteen unanswered runs help propel Champion City to one of their largest wins in recent history, as the Kings hammered the Johnstown Mill Rats 20-3. Connor Lockwood (Libertyville, IL; Valparaiso) threw six innings of great baseball, only allowing two runs in his last frame of work. On the night, Lockwood struck out ten batters while only allowing five hits and walking zero. Tyler Wynkoop (Huber Heights, OH; Toledo) pitched the last inning, allowing one run one two walks and a single hit to slam the door shut.
Offensively, the Kings amassed eleven hits on the night on nine walks and eight Johnstown errors. Leading the charge with two hits was Sean Kolenick (Parma, OH; Baldwin-Wallace University), along with three runs scored and two RBI. Ben Stuart (Mason, OH; Evansville) homered for the first time as a King and led the team with three RBI.
