Johnstown, PA – The Champion City Kings were held to two earned runs, as the Johnstown Mill Rats swept the two-game series in a 6-2 decision.
The Kings got an early lead, as Patrick Fultz (Springfield, OH; Shawnee H.S.) picked up an early RBI. The Mill Rats tied the game in their first inning, and scored their six runs unanswered until the last Kings run, with another Fultz RBI hit.
Cade Kontny (Lakeland, FL; Spring Arbor Univ.) took the loss, going five innings and allowing six earned runs, seven hits, three walks while striking out six. Gabe Carter (Huntington, WV; Rio Grande) threw three scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out three.
