Aviators 7, Kings 1

Lafayette, IN – On the last road trip to Indiana on the regular season, the Kings struck early for the fourth straight game but couldn’t hold the lead as Champion City fell 7-2 at Lafayette.

The Kings got their only run in the opening inning, as Alex Ryan (Lake Mills, WI; Valparaiso) singled in Patrick Fultz (Springfield, OH; Shawnee H.S.) The Kings would keep the lead until the 5th inning, where the Aviators tied it up. Lafayette scored seven straight runs off of Cade Kontny (Lakeland, FL; Spring Arbor Univ.) and Nathan Jendraszkiewicz (Aurora, IL; Land Lake College.)

The starter Kontny suffered his fourth loss, going six innings and allowing three earned runs on four hits, three walks while striking out three. Jendraszkiewicz went two frames, allowing two earned runs, four total runs on one hit, three walks, and striking out four.
