Mill Rats 8, Kings 0

Johnstown, PA – The Champion City Kings, coming off a doubleheader where the hosts were outscored 12-1 in a sweep, couldn’t get the offense going in a 8-0 loss to the Mill Rats.

Aaron Miller (Canton, OH; Notre Dame College) made his start of the year, going 4.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits, two walks, and four strikeouts. Johnathon Ray (Sylvania, OH; Tiffin Univ.) pitched the next 2.1 innings, allowing two earned runs with two hits, two walks, and four strikeouts. Tyler Wynkoop (Huber Heights, OH; Toledo) threw two-thirds of an inning, allowing four runs on three walks, three hits, and one punchout. Kyle Mahon (Centerville, OH; Wittenberg) threw the last third of an inning, giving up his first hit but nothing else.

Offensively, only four Kings picked up a base hit. In his debut with Champion City, Alex Scoular (Whitby, Ontario, Canada; Rio Grande) went 1-for-1 with two walks. Picking up the other three hits were Evan Lorey (Howell, MI; Spring Arbor Univ.), Matt Mercer (Richton, MS; Pearl River CC), and Alex Ryan (Lake Mills, WI; Valparaiso.)

The Kings are now 1-5 in the second half, continuing a busy two weeks mostly on the road with another game at Johnstown Tuesday night. For tickets, PLTV information, and more, visit championcitykings.com!
